Tina Philpot received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in Mathematics and Economics, a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee in Economics, and has completed all coursework and comprehensive exams (Ab. D.), for the Ph.D. in Economics from Emory University. Tina is an Associate Professor of Economics at Georgia Perimeter College, in Atlanta, GA., currently undergoing consolidation with Georgia State University. She also serves as the Interim Dean of Business, Kinesiology and Health, and the SLIP at GPC, and the Academic Dean at their Alpharetta Campus. And, due to the consolidation efforts of this outstanding college and university, Tina is working with the Assistant Dean of the Undergraduate Program of the Robinson College of Business at GSU to lead the Business Disciplines through this consolidation process. Prior to her appointment to Academic Dean, Ms. Philpot served for thirteen years as the Department Chair of Business on the Dunwoody Campus. She also chaired the Presidential Search and Advisory Committee resulting in the selection of the 6th President of GPC (2005-2006), and then chaired this President’s Inauguration Committee. She also Co-Chaired the College’s 40th Anniversary Celebration (2004-2005).
Prior to joining Georgia Perimeter College/DeKalb College, Tina held two major positions: Systems Analyst for the Ohio Department of Welfare, working with the team of analysts that designed and installed the first Model Medicaid Management Information System; and Fortran Analyst for the Center of Vocational and Technical Education at Ohio State University.
Tina now resides in Dunwoody, GA with her husband, David. They enjoy travel and visiting their children who are all pursuing their careers across this great land. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, where she served as President for 2016-2017.
