Job Summary:
We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team. The Database Administrator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining high-quality database systems that align with the diverse information needs of our end users. The role involves optimizing data distribution, analyzing data, and ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our databases.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Development: Build and implement robust database systems that meet end users' specialized roles and information needs.
  • Data Distribution: Define user access and ensure data is delivered to the right users promptly and appropriate format.
  • Data Analysis: Interpret data using statistical techniques and provide regular reports to support decision-making.
  • Data Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Data Acquisition: Collect data from primary and secondary sources and maintain database systems.
  • Data Trends Analysis: Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Review and clean data by identifying and correcting code problems.
  • Collaboration: Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and define opportunities for process improvement in database management.
  • Database Performance: Install and maintain database servers, manage access, and fine-tune 
  • performance.
  • Security and Standards: Develop and enforce database security standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • Technology Adoption: Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain data pipeline integrity and ensure the accuracy of the data warehouse
  • Automation: Develop automation for recurring database tasks.
  • Support: Be available for on-call support as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Google Looker etc.)

Some knowledge of data warehousing technologies (preferably Google Bigquery)

Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques.

Solid understanding of data security and privacy.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
