Local governments looking to take advantage of federal funding for clean energy initiatives
A White House official joined the mayors of Decatur, Brookhaven, and Jonesboro at the Decatur Recreation Center on Wednesday, Oct. 30, to discuss federal funding for clean energy initiatives.
Ryan Whalen, the special assistant to the president and senior advisor for states and implementation for the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, joined the mayors on Wednesday morning during a roundtable and press conference hosted by the Climate Action Campaign. They discussed a new opportunity for tax-exempt organizations to receive direct payments for implementing and installing clean energy technologies.
“This morning, with these incredible local leaders, we had the opportunity to talk about the ways that local governments, households, nonprofits and many others are able to today take advantage of these investments to help them deliver on and reach their priorities,” Whalen said.
