Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan to retire

Chief Billy Grogan is set to retire on June 1, 2024, after more than 41 years in law enforcement.

Dunwoody's first and only police chief announces retirement

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Leadership for the City of Dunwoody has announced the retirement of longtime Police Chief Billy Grogan, effective on June 1, 2024. 

Chief Grogan has more than 41 years of law enforcement and is Dunwoody's first and only police chief, a release from the city stated.

Grogan's career began in 1981 with the Marietta Police Department. In 2008, he was named chief of police for the newly formed City of Dunwoody and, in 2023, he was named Outstanding Chief of the Year by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
